Welcome!

Hello everyone. My name is Andy Eaker and I am the founder here at Grog Creek Farm & Kennel. I hope to use this space to host honest discussion that helps to cover farm living, the Australian Cattle dog (ACD) breed, and the cattle industry as a whole. This should be a fun and exciting time for all of us. I strive to be one of the most progressive kennels in the United States. In my experience most dog kennels are very inclusive and do not have real transparency with their clients. We are actually one of the few ACD breeders in the United States that is actually on an operational cattle farm. While I do not currently have my registered dogs trained to herd, It may be interesting to see in the future.

Grog Creek Farms is a registered Brahman, F1, and commercial cattle farm. My dad and pawpaw started the commercial cattle many years ago. In 2020 I branched off and started the Brahman and F1 division. It is a unique and wonderful breed and I hope to succeed in it as well. Brahman cattle are usually dog gentle and very hardy. Maybe we can speak more about that in a future blog post.

I will try to post at least one time per week. I work full time and I am finishing my last semester of school as well. Throw a full time farm and kennel operation on top of that it does not leave much time for much else. However, I understand the importance of upkeep on a blog and I strive to make this one successful. This will be my very first blog post so I'll learn as I go. Anyways I hope you enjoy it here and subscribe. Check back next week for our next post, I promise you will not want to miss it.
